This policy explains what information SmarterSafe ("SmarterSafe," "we," "us") collects through this website and the SmarterSafe USA web application, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how we handle your phone number if you choose to receive login verification codes by text message.

Information we collect

Account information. If you or your employer sets up a SmarterSafe USA account for you, we (or your employer's administrator) store your name, username, email address, mobile phone number, role, and assigned store location(s) so you can log in and use the application.

Login verification codes. When you log in, you may be asked to enter a one-time verification code as a second factor. We generate that code and send it to the email address or mobile number on your account, whichever you choose.

Contact form. The "Request a quote" form on this website opens your own email application with the fields you entered pre-filled. Submitting it sends that message directly from your email account to ours — this website does not receive, transmit, or store what you type in that form.

Usage information. Like most websites and applications, our servers automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and troubleshooting purposes.

How we use your information

• AuthenticationTo verify it's really you logging in, including sending one-time passcodes by email or SMS.
• Operating the serviceTo provide the cash-management dashboard, reporting, and account features you or your employer have access to.
• Support and communicationTo respond to questions you send us and to notify you about your account or our service.
• SecurityTo detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

Text messaging (SMS) terms

If you choose "Text message" as your login verification method inside the SmarterSafe USA application, here's what that means:

• ConsentBy selecting that option, you consent to receive an SMS containing a one-time login passcode at the mobile number on your account.
• Message frequencyYou'll receive a text only when you (or someone using your credentials) attempts to log in and requests a code by SMS — frequency varies with how often you log in.
• Message and data ratesMessage and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
• Opting out of SMSYou can stop receiving SMS codes at any time by selecting "Email" as your delivery method instead, or by asking your administrator to remove the mobile number from your account. Replying STOP to a code message will also stop future SMS to that number.
• Carrier disclaimerCarriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not use your mobile number for marketing messages, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the application and send verification codes on our behalf — for example, our email delivery provider and our SMS/text messaging provider — under terms that require them to protect it and use it only to provide that service to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and verification codes only for the short window needed to complete a login before they expire and are no longer usable.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including restricting access to authorized personnel and encrypting data in transit.

Children's privacy

SmarterSafe USA is a business tool for restaurant and retail staff. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
